Okay, I have officially been tagged for the meme started by my good friend GreenWoman, so I will put off the planned post untill tomorrow.
Forrest Gump’s momma always said, “Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” I suppose the same could be said of writing, but . . . since we’re writers, we feel compelled to come up with our own silly comparisons.

Hence the creation of the Box of Chocolates Writing Meme–in which you may compare writing to anything but a box of chocolates.
How does it work? Take the phrase “Writing is like . . .” and finish it. Post it on your blog. Tag three others to do the same. That is all. See how easy that is?
Yeah, how easy is that?
Well, for me…Writing is like an old hound dog. (I have one, so I know)
Much of the time the hound dog/writing lays down on its pillow and dreams. They both occasionally shake, growl, bark or whine, while in the deepest depths of sleep.
This is the time when the plans are made, the words are coming together, the story is forming.
Then they wake up. They run and run along the fence and play with an enthusiasm that belies their ages.
Here is the moment, or moments, where the story comes to life and flows on the page. This is the active part of writing, the period of time when everything seems right and words just explode out of you.
Last but not least, an old hound dog is comforting, loving. How could writing not be the same?
Who to tag? Okay
